In 2010, at the invitation of the health professions colleges of Ontario and based on the innovative ProBE Program offered in the U.S., a multidisciplinary professional ethics and boundaries program was designed to meet the needs of Canadian healthcare professionals. ProBE Ontario was held in Toronto on October 21-23, 2011. ProBE Ontario will be held in Toronto June 22-24, 2012.

Faculty
Catherine V. Caldicott, M.D., F.A.C.P., Program Director recently retired from SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY, where she was Associate Professor of Bioethics and Humanities and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine. At Upstate, Dr. Caldicott chaired the University Hospital Ethics Committee and was a Senior Ethics Consultant. She also taught bioethics to physicians, nurses and medical, nursing and health professions students. In her research, Dr. Caldicott assesses medical students' and physicians' moral reasoning and judgment, and examines interdisciplinary bioethics education. Her scholarship appears in Academic Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, Medical Education and other publications. She earned her medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School, interned at Yale and completed residency training at the University of Michigan, where she was also a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar.
Chantal Brazeau, M.D., Program Faculty is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Director of Medical Student Education in the Department of Family Medicine and co-leader and developer of the Ethics, Humanism and Professionalism Module for medical students. Dr. Brazeau’s research explores the relationships between burnout, empathy and professionalism in clinical learning environments. She earned her M.D. degree from The University of Ottawa, Canada and holds dual board certification in Psychiatry and Family Medicine.
