PRESS RELEASE

Denver, CO (August 15, 2007) - CPEP, the Center for Personalized Education for Physicians, Denver-based, national leader in physician assessment and education programs, has acquired the ProBE Program from The Ethics Group. Established in New Jersey in 1992, the ProBE Program (“ProBE”) is the original education intervention in ethics for health care practitioners who are under discipline by their licensing boards or other oversight agencies.

Joseph d’Oronzio, PhD, MPH, Clinical Associate Professor of Public Health at Columbia University, ProBE Program Director and The Ethics Group Executive Director, states “This merger with CPEP has high potential for providing more focused remediation in professional ethics, that is an underlying issue of other infractions, identified by boards and referred to CPEP.”

Dr. Lisa M. Latts, VP, Programs in Clinical Excellence at Wellpoint Inc., and CPEP Board President states, “ProBE is going to be an excellent addition to CPEP’s current programs. We are excited to work with Joseph and The Ethics Group in this new endeavor. The inclusion of ProBE will allow CPEP to provide enhanced professional evaluations and services to health care professionals nationwide.”

CPEP will retain Dr. d’Oronzio as the Program Director for ProBE. Dr. d’Oronzio, along with Edmund L. Erde, PhD and David M. Price, MDiv.,PhD, the founding faculty, will continue with ProBE over the next three years. As a group, they will work with CPEP to train new faculty and incorporate this growing seminar into CPEP’s current course lineup. The ProBE Program, held in New Jersey and Colorado, will join CPEP’s current successful educational seminars, including their Patient Care Documentation seminar and communication courses. The addition of the ProBE Program to CPEP strengthens and expands CPEP’s capacity to provide support and solutions to physicians and other health care practitioners.
