
Improving Inter-Professional Communication
The two-day Improving Inter-Professional Communication: Working Effectively in Medical Teams course is designed for healthcare professionals whose communication and/or behavior has been identified as detrimental to medical team interactions. This course will help participants gain insight and develop strategies and skills to improve communication and collaboration.

9:00 – 11:00 am | Session 2 – DiSC Behavior Profile: Insights into Effective Teaming Understanding your own behavior style and the style of your team will make you more aware and effective in communicating with others. |
11:00 – 11:30 am | Lunch |
11:30 – 3:30 pm | Session 3 – Behaviors That Undermine Teams Participants will share why they are participating in this seminar and incorporate information from DiSC into their story |
3:30 – 4:40 pm | Session 4 – The Role of Emotional Intelligence Participants will explore how having a high Emotional IQ can influence behavior change for yourself and those around you. |
4:45 – 5pm | Wrap Up and Homework |
Day Two

8:00 – 11 am MT | Session 5 – Working Effectively in Healthcare Teams Participants will explore barriers and strategies for working effectively within teams– including civility, repair, and conflict management. Participants are asked to consider how their style of communication is impacting their ability to be their most effective selves. |
11:00 – 11:45 am | Session 6 – Personal Accountability: Focusing on the “I” in Team Participants are challenged to become more accountable to the team process and their role by considering what changes they can make. |

12:15 – 1:15 pm | Session 7 – Bite Sized Resilience: Cultivating Wellbeing in Medicine Participants are asked to rate their wellbeing and stress-management strategies and consider how they may improve |
