Fitness for Duty Evaluations

Fitness for Duty Evaluations include all of the elements of clinical skills/competence assessments (examination of clinician’s knowledge, judgment, and skills) but place added emphasis on the clinician’s physical health, mental health, and cognitive abilities. This added emphasis may include:

• A full neuropsychological workup by a PhD neuropsychologist
• Independent physical and/or mental health evaluation
• A functional capacity evaluation by an occupational therapist. This evaluation focuses on the clinician’s motor skills and physical stamina.

As with our clinical skills/competence assessments, each Fitness for Duty evaluation is tailored to the clinician’s specific needs.
